彼らは　なぜ「生きた化石」と呼ばれるのか
なぜ　いまも絶えず
深海に　そのかたちを残しているのか

もしかすると
流星にまぎれて
この星に辿り着いた　旅人なのかもしれない

Why are they called "living fossils"?
Why do they still remain,
hidden in the deep sea, unchanged?

Perhaps—
they are travelers,
who drifted to this planet
through the tail of a falling star.
